Create an Audience Group Updated September 22, 2022 20:56 Creating Groups in the Audience builder will allow you to add more than one rule with clarity, have more control in your conditions, and apply more rules for accurate and targeted campaigns. Watch the quick clip below for to learn how to make groups: In Marketing Hub, go to Audiences and create or select an Audience. To add a group, click Add new group. A new group will appear below any existing groups. Note that groups cannot be reordered once they are built. The contents of a group can be collapsed and expanded by clicking the arrow icon to the left of the group name. Duplicating a group is helpful to speed up your workflow, if you’re reusing the same group and conditions. Duplicated groups appear directly below the group that was duplicated. To duplicate a group: Click the Actions icon to open the actions menu. Click Duplicate. If you do not want a group included in an audience you’ve created, you can delete it. To delete a group: Click the Actions icon to open the actions menu. Click Delete. Confirm that you want to delete by clicking, Yes, delete. When you create a new group, you will notice the option to select a logical operator. Like using parentheses in an equation, the conditions inside a group are evaluated as a whole first, then groups are evaluated against each other in the way you specify. For example, you may want to include users in your audience with external credit cards that have an interest rate higher than 20% and checking accounts with a balance of at least $1,000. You can create a group for each of those sets of conditions and connect the groups with a logical operator. There are 3 options for Logical Operators: And narrows your audience by requiring that a user meets all conditions connected by "and" to be included. For example, users would need to have an external credit card and have an interest rate of 20%. Or widens your audience by requiring that a user meets at least one of the conditions connected by "or" but doesn’t have to meet all of them to be included. For example, users would need to have an internal or an external credit card. Not excludes users from your audience if they meet any condition that follows a "not." For example, users might have an external credit card with an interest rate of 20%, but it is from a specific financial institution, and you do not want that institution’s users included. **Remember that you cannot reorder groups once they are created. Because of this, best practice is to use whatever group follows the “NOT” rule as the last group in the Audience. Only the group that immediately follows the “NOT” rule is excluded.
